Promoting local traffic in goods, services, ideas, and interpersonal relationships. (Most of the initial posts will be addressed to primarily independent retailers, only because they are in such a good position to experiment, but most of the ideas apply equally to nonprofits, civic agencies, and individuals.)

New Urbanism
"New Urbanism" is a whole architectural and urban planning movement based largely on a rediscovery of the value of a sense of place. Nearish provides information technology to foster that sense of place.
